"The Islamabad memorandum has been finalized with the presidents' signatures. Now is the time to verify the agreement's practical implementation," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei stated on 18/6, according to the country's IRNA news agency.

Baqaei added that the memorandum was signed in both English and Persian, at Iran's request, to ensure transparency. "If the text were only in English, subjective or differing interpretations could arise," Iran's IRIB television quoted Baqaei as saying.

Reuters quoted a White House official who said US President Donald Trump and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian on 17/6 electronically signed a joint memorandum aimed at ending the conflict with Tehran.

According to the White House official, the document had previously been electronically signed by US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf on 14/6, in the presence of President Trump. Axios reported that Trump signed the document while dining with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at the Palace of Versailles, on the sidelines of the G7 summit held in the European nation.

Vice President Vance earlier this week described the agreement reached with Iran as about one and a half pages long, with very general content. According to the original plan, Vance was expected to travel to Geneva, Switzerland, to sign the agreement with Iranian representative Ghalibaf on 19/6.

However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baqaei stated on 18/6 that the plan to hold this event "has been postponed, after both sides decided to have the Iranian and US presidents directly sign the agreement." The US has not commented on this information.

The US and Iran agreed on a peace deal last week, but the specific terms have not been announced by either government. US media on 17/6 published the content of a 14-point agreement that the country reached with Iran, which had many similarities to a version previously published by Iranian media. Key points included an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, the US lifting blockades on Iranian ports, and establishing a reconstruction fund worth 300 billion USD.
