US releases names of 300 notable individuals in Epstein files

The US Department of Justice has revealed a list of 300 celebrities, politicians, and business leaders whose names appear in the files related to pedophile billionaire Epstein.

US Attorney General Pam Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche sent a letter to Congress on 14/2, stating that the US Department of Justice has released all documents in its possession related to the investigation into Jeffrey Epstein.

US justice officials reviewed approximately 6 million pages of documents, releasing over 3,5 million pages weeks after the Epstein Records Transparency Act was passed. The remaining documents contain information protected by certain privileges, including attorney-client privilege. The US Department of Justice did not disclose the names of victims and redacted any information that could identify them.

Among the documents sent to Congress is a list of approximately 300 politicians, business leaders, and public figures appearing in the Epstein files. This includes US President Donald Trump, former president Barack Obama, former first lady Michelle Obama, former president Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, billionaire Bill Gates, billionaire Elon Musk, and Prince Harry, among many others.

Several deceased cultural icons are also mentioned, such as Elvis Presley, Princess Diana, Marilyn Monroe, and Kurt Cobain.

The US Department of Justice clarified that some individuals appear only fleetingly in the documents and reaffirmed that being named in the files does not imply guilt. The department emphasized that no documents were withheld due to "shame, reputational damage, or political sensitivity."

The release of the Epstein files has triggered a wave of resignations from many officials connected to the pedophile billionaire. Epstein, born in 1953, was arrested in New York in 7/2019 on charges of luring dozens of underage individuals, making them victims of abuse and sex trafficking. The businessman faced 45 years in prison if convicted. Epstein denied all charges and was held at Manhattan jail, New York. While awaiting trial, Epstein hanged himself in his cell in 8/2019.
