Regarding the arrest of Vietnamese citizens in Indonesia for legal violations, the incident is currently under investigation by relevant authorities, said Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang at a regular press conference today. She referred to information about Indonesian police dismantling an online fraud and gambling ring, which led to the arrest of several Vietnamese nationals.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Indonesia has contacted relevant authorities to verify information, ascertain identities, and implement appropriate citizen protection measures.
Concerning the arrests of Vietnamese citizens in Cambodia, Vietnamese representative agencies have engaged with local authorities to gather information. They have requested Cambodia ensure the security, safety, and living conditions for Vietnamese citizens.

Vietnamese representative agencies in Cambodia have closely coordinated with local authorities to promptly complete initial identity verification procedures. They are also working with both domestic and local authorities to implement necessary consular procedures for the swift and safe repatriation of citizens.
"Since 1/4, Vietnamese representative agencies in Cambodia have been working closely with local and domestic authorities to receive nearly 200 Vietnamese citizens returning via border gates," added Spokesperson Hang.
The spokesperson advised Vietnamese citizens to be wary of online recruitment offers promising "easy work and high salaries" abroad. Such solicitations, which do not require qualifications, lack signed contracts, and are not channeled through official businesses or labor dispatch organizations, carry risks of exploitation, forced labor, or human trafficking.
Citizens should thoroughly research and verify information regarding job content, employers, prospective work locations, recruiters, insurance schemes, and benefits before deciding to work abroad.
