Regarding the ongoing dialogue between Cuba and the United States, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson reiterated Vietnam's welcome and support for these exchanges. The aim is to find solutions for differences in their bilateral relations, based on respect for independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the fundamental principles of international law. Vietnam hopes both sides will soon reach common ground to improve and normalize relations, benefiting the people of both countries and contributing to peace, cooperation, stability, and development in the region and worldwide.
Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel announced on 13/3 that officials from Cuba and the United States have discussed resolving differences through dialogue. He noted that these exchanges, "driven by international factors", also seek to identify areas of cooperation to ensure security and peace for both nations and the broader region.
Further underscoring the significance of these discussions, the Cuban President announced on 25/3 that former leader Raul Castro is participating in negotiations with the United States. These critical discussions are currently in their early stages, signaling a cautious but hopeful path forward for Cuba-US relations.
