Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang made the statement on 15/6, commenting on the US and Iran's announcement of a peace agreement.
"Vietnam calls on relevant parties to promptly sign and fully implement the agreement, thereby facilitating a comprehensive, sustainable solution that brings peace and stability to the Middle East region, including the Strait of Hormuz," Hang stated.
This solution, she added, should be based on international law and the Charter of the United Nations (UN), for the benefit of nations in the region, and for peace, stability, cooperation, and development regionally and globally.

The US and Iran previously announced reaching an agreement to end their conflict. As part of this accord, the US would "immediately" lift its maritime blockade on Iran.
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who mediated the talks, confirmed that Washington and Tehran agreed to immediately and permanently cease military activities on all fronts, including in Lebanon. He added that the agreement is scheduled to be signed in Switzerland on 19/6.
US President Donald Trump also announced that the Strait of Hormuz would reopen "without transit fees." "Ships worldwide, start your engines. Let the oil flow," he stated.
A senior Iranian official revealed that the draft agreement includes a clause for the US to release 25 billion USD in frozen Iranian assets. In return, Tehran agreed not to produce or possess atomic weapons.
Iran also committed to maintaining the status quo of its nuclear program, refraining from enriching uranium or expanding nuclear facilities until a final agreement is reached.
According to a US official, the final agreement would lead to the termination of Iran's nuclear program, with its stockpile of highly enriched uranium to be destroyed and removed. However, the senior Iranian official noted that the draft agreement would permit Tehran to dilute highly enriched uranium domestically.
