While not a complete redesign, this mid-cycle refresh focuses on aesthetic enhancements, giving the 5-door Civic a sharper appearance, particularly at the front. These changes, based on customer feedback, include a redesigned bumper, a revised upper grille, and a larger lower grille. Small body-colored trim pieces now sit between the grille and headlights.
Honda states that the new gloss black honeycomb grille gives the Civic a more defined look and also explained the decision to remove the fog lights, asserting that the main LED headlights are sufficient.
The top-of-the-line Advance trim gets new two-tone 18-inch diamond-cut wheels, while the mid-range Sport trim features similar wheels in black. Other exterior changes are limited to a single new color, a blue shade replacing the crystal blue.
Inside, all 2026 Civic trims feature a black headliner and A-pillar trim, giving the cabin a more premium feel. Each trim also gets additional matte chrome accents around the air vents. The Advance trim features under-seat lighting, while the Sport trim adds a heated steering wheel to its standard equipment. The Elegance trim gains wireless charging.
The 2026 Civic hatchback will be offered solely with a hybrid powertrain, consisting of a 2.0-liter gasoline engine and an electric motor, producing a combined 200 horsepower. Safety features remain unchanged, with the ADAS suite of driver-assistance systems.
The 2026 Honda Civic hatchback is scheduled to go on sale in Europe in the second half of 2025. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
