9 new car models greet Vietnamese customers in July

The models introduced in July are mainly gasoline, electric, and hybrid vehicles, ranging from standard to sports and luxury.

Vietnamese customers have more choices when buying a car. The series of cars just launched in July includes first-time appearances like the BYD Atto 2, Volkswagen Golf, Audi A5, Q6 e-tron, Geely EX5, and Monjaro. There are also upgraded versions or additional variants like the Peugeot 408, Lynk & Co 06, and Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600.

Volkswagen has opened pre-orders for the Golf, a high-performance hatchback (hot hatch) sold for the first time in the domestic market. The car is expected to launch and be delivered to customers around the end of September. Imported from Germany, the Golf will be available in 6 versions, with a 1.5 or 2.0 turbocharged engine, boasting 315 horsepower in the R version, priced at 1,989 billion VND. The lowest version, the 1.5 eTSI Life, is priced at 798 million VND.

Geely launched its first all-electric model, the EX5, to Vietnamese customers. The car belongs to the C-segment crossover segment, priced at 839-899 million VND, imported from China. The EX5 will compete with the VinFast VF 7, priced at 799-969 million VND.

The car is equipped with a 214-horsepower electric motor, 320 Nm of torque, and a 60.22 kWh LFP battery pack, providing a range of 430 km per charge and supporting 30-80% DC fast charging in 20 minutes.

Chinese automaker Geely introduced the D-segment Monjaro SUV to the Vietnamese market, with two powertrain options: gasoline or hybrid, priced at 1,099-1,199 billion VND. Its most formidable competitor is the Ford Everest, the American brand SUV that frequently leads the segment in sales.

Peugeot launched the limited edition 408, named Legend Edition, to the Vietnamese market. Production is limited to 215 units, marking the brand's 215th anniversary (1810-2025).

Buyers can choose the Legend Edition variant for all current 408 versions, including Allure, Premium, and GT. The selling price is 20 million VND higher, at 1,039 billion VND, 1,139 billion VND, and 1,289 billion VND, respectively, and buyers can choose their preferred number when ordering.

The Legend Edition differs from the regular version in small details on the exterior and interior. It has a special new paint job and a badge on the rear identifying the edition, along with a serial number from 001-215. The headrests are embossed with the number 215.

Greenlynk Automotives, the distributor of Lynk & Co in Vietnam, introduced a new version of the B-segment crossover Lynk & Co 06, called the Core Plus. This is a "simplified" version of the 06 launched in mid-2024, removing some features and safety technologies, with a more accessible price of 679 million VND.

The Core Plus version has fewer features, such as no dual-zone air conditioning, one-touch glass, air filter, or automatic wipers. Notably, the ADAS driver-assistance system has been removed, with the company retaining only standard safety features.

BYD Vietnam launched the B-segment all-electric crossover Atto 2 to the Vietnamese market. The car has a range of 380 km on a single charge, a 174-horsepower front-wheel-drive motor, and a price of 669 million VND. The Atto 2 is also known as the Yuan Up in the Chinese market.

The Atto 2 is equipped with a front-wheel-drive electric motor, producing 174 horsepower and 290 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds. Powering the car is a 45.12 kWh blade battery. The battery supports 65 kW DC fast charging, with a charging time of 30-80% in 28 minutes.

The new luxury sedan Audi A5 is being sold in one S line version, priced at nearly 2.2 billion VND, with deliveries starting in September. The new A5 was created to replace the A4, while the new generation A4 is only available as a fully electric version. The A5 competes with the BMW 3 Series, priced at 1,899-2,499 billion VND, and the Mercedes C-Class, priced at 1,709-2,399 billion VND.

The new generation A5 has a 2.0 TFSI gasoline engine with 196 horsepower and a maximum torque of 340 Nm from 2,000-4,000 rpm. It has a 7-speed S-tronic transmission combined with front-wheel drive. The car is fully equipped with ADAS driver-assistance technology with various features.

The distributor of the German luxury car brand Audi launched the Q6 e-tron in the Vietnamese market on 4/7. The newcomer Q6 e-tron joins Audi's electric SUV lineup, adding another green vehicle option alongside the e-tron GT sedan and Q8 e-tron SUV. The Q6 e-tron is sold in one version, priced at 3.19 billion VND.

The car is equipped with a rear-wheel-drive electric motor, producing 301 horsepower and 485 Nm of torque. The 94.9 kWh battery pack provides a range of 583 km. The battery supports a maximum DC fast charging of 260 kW from 10-80% in just 22 minutes.

Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600

Mercedes Vietnam introduced the 2025 upgraded version of the Maybach GLS 600 4Matic, a near-ultra-luxury SUV priced at 12,379 billion VND. There is also a lower version, the GLS 450 4Matic, priced at 5,689 billion VND.

The new upgraded version of the GLS 600 features refined design and equipment. The car is equipped with a 4.0 V8 twin-turbo engine but with the addition of a 48V motor assist. The engine produces 557 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque. It has a 9-speed automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel drive.
