The A-segment small car segment recorded 638 units sold in november, a slight increase from october. Although not a significant surge, this performance demonstrates consistent purchasing power at year-end within a segment known for its smaller scale.
Hyundai i10 continued to lead the segment with 360 units sold. This marked a slight decrease of two units from the previous month, but the model maintained its dominant position. Hyundai’s compact car consistently performs well due to a steady supply and the availability of both sedan and hatchback variants, catering to both first-time buyers and ride-hailing services.
Toyota Wigo held onto second place, selling 262 units, an increase of 18 units from october. This model experienced the most notable growth in the segment during november, indicating improved purchasing power driven by its brand reputation and low operating costs, especially as consumers increasingly favor budget-friendly vehicles.
Conversely, Kia Morning remained at the bottom of the segment, selling 16 units, a sharp decrease from 29 units the previous month. Morning sales have consistently been low for several months, highlighting its diminished competitiveness against its two rivals. To date, Morning has not exceeded 60 units in any month of 2025, with its sales significantly lower than the same period last year.
Cumulatively for the first 11 months of 2025, the A-segment small car segment recorded 5,403 units sold. Hyundai i10 led with 2,977 units, followed by Toyota Wigo with 2,163 units, and Kia Morning with 263 units. As the year enters its final month, A-segment small car sales are likely to remain stable or see a slight increase, driven by demand for holiday and Tet (Lunar New Year) travel, along with promotional offers from manufacturers and dealerships. However, the growth potential for this segment is limited, as consumers have a growing number of alternatives, ranging from B-segment sedans to affordable SUVs and urban electric vehicles.

Given the current sales gap, Hyundai i10 is almost certainly set to be the best-selling A-segment model for 2025. Toyota Wigo is expected to secure the second position, while Kia Morning is unlikely to achieve a significant turnaround amid its persistently low sales.
However, compared to 2024, the competitive landscape within the A-segment small car segment has undergone a significant shift. In 2024, the Hyundai i10 established a substantial sales lead over the Toyota Wigo. By 2025, this gap has noticeably narrowed. The Wigo has demonstrated consistent monthly improvement, while the i10, though still leading, no longer holds the commanding advantage it once did.
