Car Awards 2025 - five years building a space for Vietnamese users

Beyond selecting outstanding car models, Car Awards has also established itself as a community and cultural connecting event in Vietnam.

Car Awards, organized by VnExpress, began its journey to find and honor the most outstanding car models in their segments and across the market in January 2021 in Hanoi. All activities were carefully planned as the capital was then only in the initial stages of a new normal, with the Covid-19 pandemic gradually coming under control. *Photo: Ngoc Thanh*

After five years, Car Awards has become a familiar, prominent, and vibrant automotive award, eagerly anticipated by experts and users each year-end. Starting with a focus on car awards, Car Awards gradually expanded its ecosystem into a series of activities, bringing together more car manufacturers, accessory brands, and car enthusiast communities. A notable addition is the Vietnam Mobility Show 2025 - VnMS (Vietnam Mobility Exhibition).

As traditional indoor exhibition models, solely focused on introducing cars, gradually became outdated, users needed a place that offered more: where they could view cars, test drive them, and participate in various other activities. VnMS was created with such a scope. Pictured is the crowd heading to VnMS 2025, which spans over 9 hectares, making it one of the largest in Southeast Asia. *Photo: Loc Chung*

Pictured is a lineup of over 20 cars from all participating brands "catwalking" through the central grandstand, creating one of the most special performances at VnMS 2025, breaking away from the monotonous image of exhibition openings that were purely speeches and lacked appeal. *Photo: Hoang Giang*

Little Quoc An (4 years old - number 143) participated in a balance bike race with friends. An's mother, Vu Thi Thuy (Long Bien, Hanoi), said she learned about the event through social media. "Our family isn't yet in a position to buy a car, so we mainly came here to visit and let our child have fun and experience things," she stated.

Among many car awards and events in Vietnam, VnMS creates a distinct impression by offering not only professional content but also numerous family-connecting activities. *Photo: Thanh Nhan*

At VnMS, not only cars but also unique technologies were showcased by brands, attracting visitors. Pictured is a robot dog at the Omoda & Jaecoo display area. *Photo: Hoang Giang*

A new feature at VnMS and Car Awards 2025 was the space for modified car enthusiasts. Tire burnout, gymkhana, and drift performances attracted thousands of spectators, both in person and online. *Photo: Minh Quan*

Equally appealing as the exhibition areas was the free family run - Carlympic Family Run - part of VnMS 2025. This was an opportunity for family members to connect, play, have fun, and exercise together. *Photo: Quoc Dat*

VnMS 2025 also featured a special program: "Escape and Rescue from Vehicles" for children. Major Pham Dang Quy, an officer from Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue Police Team Area 20, Hanoi Police, was responsible for explaining and instructing children on skills to signal for help and escape from a car if they are unfortunately left behind.

"Equipping children with escape knowledge is never superfluous," Major Quy said. "Educated children can help themselves and others." *Photo: Hoang Giang*

People waited for their turn to test drive VinFast's smallest and most affordable car, the Minio Green, at VnMS 2025.

Rarely do events like VnMS, and Car Awards in particular, allow users to test drive so many car models at once. At VnMS 2025 alone, there were over 70 car models from various brands available for visitors to experience on test tracks and open roads. *Photo: Minh Quan*

In the car display areas, visitors explored throughout the three-day exhibition, from 26-28/12. The latest and best-selling car models were brought by brands to VnMS 2025. Pictured is a group of visitors learning about Skoda's high-performance Octavia RS sedan. *Photo: Minh Quan*

Ms. Le Thanh Hai, General Director of Subaru Vietnam, celebrated the victory as the Japan-imported Forester won the Car of the Year award in the C-segment high-ground clearance category.

One of the most anticipated events at VnMS was the Car of the Year Awards Ceremony. "We are very happy and proud to receive this award," Ms. Hai stated. "Because this is recognition from the judging panel, experts with strong professional knowledge and deep understanding of the domestic automotive industry." *Photo: Luong Dung*

"The five-year journey of Car Awards is certainly a motivation for us to create even more new things in the future," said Pham Duc Huy, Head of Auto - VnExpress and Head of the VnMS 2025 organizing committee.
