To prevent such incidents, drivers must avoid stopping or parking arbitrarily in the middle of the road. When stopping or changing direction, it is crucial to activate turn signals and hazard lights to alert following vehicles. For passenger pickups, vehicles should always pull over to the side of the road or into a designated stopping area. Furthermore, maintaining a sufficient distance from the vehicle ahead is essential. Drivers should observe beyond the immediate car to anticipate unusual situations and adjust their speed accordingly, especially in crowded residential areas, to account for pedestrians and sudden stops.
