Two high school sisters sustained injuries after falling from a moving bus in Karnataka, India, on 31/3. The incident occurred in Kaliya village, Dakshina Kannada district, as the students were traveling to an exam. Reports indicate the bus door suddenly opened while the vehicle navigated a turn, causing both girls to lose their balance and fall onto the road.
Witness accounts describe the older sister falling first. The younger sister, attempting to hold on, was also pulled from the bus. Both girls were reportedly standing near the door at the time. While the exact cause of the door opening remains unknown, video footage shows the bus cornering at a high speed.
Both students sustained injuries and received immediate medical attention, promptly transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment.
This incident follows another serious bus accident in Karnataka just one day earlier. On 30/3, in Shivamogga district, a private bus reportedly lost control and plunged from a bridge, injuring 36 people. The vehicle struck a railing and overturned into a stream with low water levels. The crash injured all 36 occupants, including the driver and conductor.
