The incident occurred at an intersection in Thanh Oai commune, Hanoi. A vehicle equipped with a dashcam, traveling at approximately 50 km/h, suddenly encountered a small car cutting across its path. Unable to reduce speed in time, the dashcam vehicle collided directly with the side of the small car. This severe collision resulted in one fatality and one serious injury among the occupants of the small car.

This type of reckless driving carries significant legal penalties. Under Decree 168/2024 on administrative penalties for traffic violations, a car driver who fails to reduce speed and causes a traffic accident faces a fine of 20-22 million Vietnamese dong (VND) and a deduction of 10 points from their driver's license.

To prevent such tragedies, drivers must exercise heightened caution at intersections. It is crucial to proactively reduce speed, thoroughly observe all directions, and keep one's foot ready on the brake pedal to react to unexpected situations. Furthermore, all drivers should consistently maintain a safe following distance, strictly adhere to traffic signs, and avoid complacency, even when navigating familiar routes.
