The multi-vehicle accident involved about a dozen vehicles on the Mai Son - National Highway 45 expressway (South-North direction) at kilometer 279+500 in Yen Son ward. While vehicles ahead were slowing to a stop, the container truck continued at high speed, striking multiple cars. It then broke through the median barrier and veered into the opposite lane.

Drivers must maintain focus, especially on expressways where high speeds are permitted. Upon observing vehicles ahead slowing or stopping, drivers should immediately apply brakes, maintain a safe following distance, and signal to vehicles behind them.

Under Decree 168/2024, drivers who fail to maintain a safe distance and cause an accident face fines of 20-22 million VND and a deduction of 10 points from their driver's license. Additionally, drivers are liable for other responsibilities related to damage compensation and may even face criminal charges.
