On 21/9, Road Traffic Police Team No. 11, under the Hanoi Police Traffic Police Department, worked with a 54-year-old car driver from Hoang Mai ward to verify traffic violations reported by the public.

According to the traffic police, the driver committed three violations on Thang Long Boulevard on the morning of 14/9. A video recorded by another driver's dashcam showed the offending car driving in the emergency lane, overtaking the dashcam-equipped vehicle, then cutting it off without signaling, and suddenly braking to a complete stop. The dashcam car had to brake sharply to avoid a collision. After the incident, the offending car sped away.

Traffic police identified the driver's violations as: driving in the emergency lane, changing lanes without prior signal, and stopping in an unauthorized area on the highway. The total fine for these actions amounts to 23 million VND, and the driver also incurred a deduction of 6 points from their driver's license.

The traffic police advise drivers to adhere to regulations regarding lanes, lane changes, and stopping or parking when traveling on highways. If a vehicle experiences a breakdown, drivers must implement safety measures and stop only at designated, appropriate locations.

When participating in traffic, drivers should maintain composure at all times, especially on highways where vehicles travel at high speeds and reaction times are short. Impulsive actions driven by anger, such as sudden acceleration, abrupt lane changes, or hard braking, can create dangerous situations and lead to multi-vehicle collisions.

If encountering a vehicle exhibiting reckless driving, sudden lane changes, or a driver showing signs of aggression, the trailing driver should reduce speed, increase their following distance, and avoid confrontation. In cases where dangerous violations occur, drivers can record the incident with a dashcam and provide the footage to authorities rather than attempting to resolve the situation on the road.
