Electric Tesla pickup breaks in half in multi-vehicle accident

At least 10 people hospitalized after a truck lost control, hitting multiple vehicles and causing a Tesla Cybertruck to split in two.

According to Montgomery County police, a truck collided with at least 10 vehicles in Silver Spring on 18/7. Upon arrival, rescuers found multiple vehicles severely damaged. Notably, a Tesla Cybertruck was split in half, resembling a cutaway display model rather than a production pickup from the American automaker.

Montgomery County police reported the incident involved at least 10 vehicles. Fire and rescue personnel worked to extricate several individuals trapped inside the crashed cars. Images from the scene depicted debris scattered across the roadway and vehicles dispersed in various directions following the severe impact.

A black SUV lay on its side directly behind a Nation Capital Movers truck, while another SUV was situated in front of the truck, its side severely dented.

The new Tesla Cybertruck garnered significant attention. Tesla's stainless steel pickup had already generated mixed reviews since its debut. Public opinion often divided between those who admired its futuristic angular design and those who strongly disliked it. Following this accident, however, the vehicle literally split in two, with the cabin completely separating from the rear, exposing high-voltage electrical wiring.

Police later announced: "10 people were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries, including three children. Initial reports indicate the truck lost control and collided with at least 10 vehicles."

Fortunately, the accident's outcome was not as severe as the initial images from the scene suggested. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the exact cause of the truck losing control.
