On 13/6, a tragic traffic incident unfolded on National Highway 39A (QL39A) in Hung Ha commune. As a truck was overtaking a car equipped with a dashcam, hai motorcycles followed closely behind, also attempting to overtake. Notably, mot motorcyclist was seen wearing headphones and not a helmet. Suddenly, mot motorcycle carrying hai people swerved to the right of the truck to pass, only to find a car parked on the shoulder.
Unable to react in time, the motorcycle crashed directly into the rear of the parked car, throwing both riders onto the road. Simultaneously, the motorcycle following behind ran over mot of the hai victims, causing its rider to lose control and fall towards the roadside. The dashcam-equipped car also failed to brake promptly, further colliding with the people and motorcycle involved in the initial accident.
The accident resulted in the deaths of the hai individuals on the motorcycle that initially collided with the parked car. The rider of the motorcycle involved in the thu hai collision sustained injuries.
This incident highlights critical driving safety points. Motorcyclists should never tailgate large vehicles to overtake, as this severely obstructs visibility and limits reaction time. Weaving, overtaking on the right, or attempting to squeeze through narrow gaps carries a high risk of accidents. Additionally, motorcyclists must always wear a standard helmet and fasten the strap correctly to minimize injuries in a collision.
For vehicles stopped or parked on the roadside, drivers should activate hazard warning lights and, if necessary, place distant warning signs to alert oncoming vehicles. Meanwhile, car drivers need to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle ahead, especially when traveling behind trucks or passenger buses, to allow sufficient time for observation and braking in unexpected situations.
A separate incident occurred on 2/5 in Hoang Van Thai, Da Nang, where a motorcycle traveling against traffic crashed head-on into a car.
