Ford Vietnam is recalling 769 Ranger and Everest vehicles, manufactured in Thailand from 14-22/10/2025. This recall addresses a defect in the wiper control ECU system. Owners have not been advised to stop using their vehicles.
According to Ford, water may penetrate the wiper/washer control ECU on affected vehicles. This can cause malfunctions, leading to continuous washer fluid spray, weak or inoperative jets. The wiper blade angle may also operate incorrectly, or the entire wiper system could cease functioning.
In severe weather, this defect reduces visibility and increases collision risk. Ford engineers identified the wiper system issue during quality monitoring and improvement.

The recall impacts 655 Everest and 114 Ranger vehicles. Ford authorized dealerships will rectify the defect free of charge. Repairs are estimated to take over 8 hours.
The Ranger and Everest are two models sharing a body-on-frame platform, one a pickup and the other an SUV. These are among Ford's best-selling products in Vietnam, alongside the C-segment CUV, the Territory.
Some Ford Ranger versions are assembled in Vietnam, while others are imported from Thailand. The Everest is imported solely from the neighboring country.
As of May, Ranger sales reached 6,134 units, leading the pickup segment. The Everest sold 5,283 units, dominating the D-segment SUV category.
