In 2025, Honda Vietnam reported sales of 28,719 vehicles, marking a 1.6% increase from 28,267 units sold in 2024. This performance propelled Honda to the 7th position in the overall market, moving past Kia, which experienced a significant sales decline during the year. Amidst an uneven market recovery across brands, Honda's modest growth was sufficient to improve its ranking.
The B-segment sedan City remained the largest contributor to sales, while hybrid models began to expand their presence, helping to sustain the slight year-on-year growth.
Honda's hybrid lineup includes the HR-V, Civic, and CR-V. The Civic hybrid debuted in 10/2024, the CR-V hybrid has been available since 2023, and the HR-V hybrid launched in 2025.
Specifically, the HR-V hybrid sold 889 units, accounting for approximately 13% of total HR-V sales. Although gasoline-powered HR-V sales decreased year-on-year, the hybrid version contributed to improving the model's overall sales performance.
In the C-segment SUV category, the CR-V achieved sales of 6,224 units in 2025, making it Honda's third best-selling model. It captured about 10% market share and ranked 5th in its segment, trailing the Mazda CX-5, Ford Territory, VinFast VF 7, and Hyundai Tucson. While total CR-V sales saw a slight decrease compared to 2024, the CR-V hybrid recorded 1,888 units sold, an increase of approximately 4.4% year-on-year, signaling continued growth in customer preference for electrified versions.
The Civic is the final model with a hybrid variant. Although its overall sales of 767 units represented a 25.7% decrease from 1,032 units in 2024, the Civic hybrid achieved 266 units, marking a strong 174% increase year-on-year. The growing proportion of Civic hybrid sales indicates increasing customer interest in hybrid vehicles.
The City continued its reign as Honda's best-selling model in 2025, with sales reaching 10,899 units, an increase of nearly 4% compared to the previous year. In the B-segment sedan and hatchback category, the City secured the second position in sales, capturing approximately 28% market share, trailing the Toyota Vios but surpassing the Hyundai Accent. This B-segment sedan maintains its appeal due to its accessible price point, low running costs, and a stable customer base, particularly among first-time car buyers and those in the service industry.

The BR-V, a small MPV, was Honda's fourth best-selling vehicle, following the City, HR-V, and CR-V. It achieved sales of 4,120 units in 2025, accounting for approximately 9% market share and ranking 4th in its segment, behind the Mitsubishi Xpander, Toyota Veloz, and Kia Carens. BR-V sales increased by nearly 14% compared to 2024.
The D-segment sedan Accord sold only 42 units in 2025, a 53.8% decrease from the previous year, highlighting the weakening D-segment sedan market. Distribution of this model ceased from early 2026.
Overall, Honda's 2025 sales remained stable, with familiar models such as the City, HR-V, and CR-V continuing to bear the sales burden. However, the most significant development was the emergence of electrified versions, as most hybrid models recorded year-on-year growth and gradually secured a more distinct proportion within the sales mix. While still small in scale, this trend indicates that Honda's electrification strategy is beginning to yield results.
