On 2/2, Kia unveiled high-performance GT versions of its EV3, EV4, and EV5 models. This marks a new strategy for the South Korean automaker, which previously reserved the GT badge for limited-edition models like the EV6 GT, as it aims to strengthen its electric vehicle lineup.
This strategy aims to boost market share against expanding Chinese electric vehicle brands in South Korea and the US brand Tesla, which saw a surge in Model Y popularity in 2025.
GT versions are now available across the range: the small electric SUV EV3, the mid-size electric sedan EV4, and the mid-size electric SUV EV5. Kia also released updates for the EV3, EV4, and EV9.

Kia equipped the GT lineup with a dual-motor system for enhanced performance. The company states these models feature distinct interior and exterior designs, along with the addition of all-wheel drive versions offering extended range.
The EV3 GT and EV4 GT feature 145 kW and 70 kW motors on the front and rear axles, respectively, delivering a combined maximum output of 288 horsepower and 468 Nm of torque. The EV5 GT utilizes 155 kW and 70 kW motors on its front and rear axles, providing a combined output of 301 horsepower and 480 Nm of torque.
Kia equips the high-performance GT lineup with exclusive 20-inch wheels, high-performance summer tires, neon brake calipers, dedicated front and rear bumpers, and unique logos. The company explains that an advanced electronically controlled suspension system, a virtual gear shift system, and a dynamic torque distribution control system contribute to stable driving performance.
Kia includes pedal misapplication safety assist, which reduces accident risk from incorrect pedal use, and acceleration limit assist (not applicable to GT versions) as standard across all updated EV3 and EV4 models. The EV3 adds a 100W USB-C port to all versions, while the new EV4 features dual wireless smartphone charging across all versions and improved 100W USB-C port functionality.
Notably, despite enhanced safety and convenience features on the 2026 EV3 and EV4 models, prices remain unchanged. All these models have a base price below 53 million won (36,300 USD), qualifying for 100% of this year's national electric vehicle subsidy.
For the EV9, all versions now include emergency lights on the tailgate, and Air versions and above come standard with a 100W USB-C port. A new Light version has also been added. The EV9 also maintains unchanged prices for its Air, Earth, and GT-Line versions.
