Japanese automaker Honda adjusted the pricing for its HR-V lineup in the Vietnam market, effective february 26. Specifically, Honda reduced the price of the HR-V e:HEV hybrid version by 34 million VND, bringing it down from 869 million VND to 835 million VND. The other two variants, the G and L, remain unchanged at 699 million VND and 750 million VND, respectively.
This marks Honda's first price adjustment for the HR-V since the special consumption tax incentives for hybrid vehicles came into effect. Under this policy, hybrid vehicle models that demonstrate fuel consumption 70% lower than comparable petrol cars are eligible for a 30% reduction in special consumption tax.

The HR-V e:HEV features a 1.5L petrol engine producing 105 horsepower, paired with an electric motor generating 129 horsepower. The vehicle also incorporates another motor that functions as a generator, supplying power to the battery and the drive motor. According to Honda, the HR-V hybrid is 30% more fuel efficient than its internal combustion engine counterpart.
The HR-V's e:HEV system fundamentally mirrors the setup found in its larger siblings, the Civic and CR-V. The primary distinction is that the two larger models utilize a 2.0L petrol engine instead of the 1.5L unit.
Honda equips the HR-V with advanced driver assistance system (adas) technology, offering several features. These include the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), auto high-beam (ahb), adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow, lane keeping assist, and lead car departure notification.
In the B-segment oto category featuring hybrid powertrains, the HR-V e:HEV RS competes with its domestic rival, the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV, which is priced at 765 million VND. This new pricing strategy suggests Honda's primary sales focus is on the L version, priced at 750 million VND. Even at its previous price of 869 million VND, the hybrid variant was positioned as a premium offering, comparable to many C-segment models.
Sales data for january 2026 shows the HR-V e:HEV sold 180 units, significantly outpacing its competitor, the Yaris Cross, which delivered only 32 units.
The HR-V hybrid version was first introduced to Vietnamese customers in april 2025, imported directly from Thailand. Honda's B-segment hybrid model has garnered positive reviews from both industry experts and domestic customers. Furthermore, the HR-V achieved a double victory at the Car Awards 2025, winning the top category of oto of the year for the entire market and the B-segment oto of the year award, organized by VnExpress.
