New generation Nissan X-Trail revealed

The new C-segment SUV features a redesigned exterior, e-Power system, and is scheduled for release in late 2026.

Japanese automaker Nissan has unveiled the first images of the 2027 Rogue for the US market. The Rogue is known as the X-Trail in other markets, including Vietnam previously. This 5th generation marks the first time the 2027 Rogue will feature Nissan's latest e-Power system.

While detailed information about the 2027 Rogue remains limited, US media reports indicate that Nissan's new crossover boasts a sharper, bolder design, drawing inspiration from the Murano and Leaf. The front design features intersecting lines on the hood and front bumper, forming an X-shape, with the headlights and grille integrated into a black, mask-like graphic.

The Rogue is also known as the X-Trail in some markets.

In addition to its new design, the 2027 Rogue will feature the e-Power system.

The inverted L-shaped LED headlight clusters incorporate slim main projection lights at the top, connected by a strip above the grille. Meanwhile, 5 daytime running lights on each side are integrated into a large hexagonal grille, which also features an illuminated Nissan logo.

Along the vehicle's side, 6-sided graphics continue on the D-pillar, and diagonal lines on the front and rear doors combine with the window shape to form a large hexagon. Similar to the current model, the LED taillights feature L-shaped illuminated rectangles, visually connecting to the rear glass. Two-tone wheels with inlaid details, arranged to create additional hexagonal patterns, complete the overall look.

Beyond the new design, the most significant aspect of the Rogue's reveal is the debut of Nissan's e-Power hybrid system in the US. The e-Power system comprises an electric motor, a lithium-ion battery pack, an inverter, a gasoline engine, and a generator. Unlike some other hybrids, Nissan's e-Power system is driven entirely by the electric motor, rather than the internal combustion engine, similar to the Nissan Kicks. The Japanese automaker has not yet disclosed detailed specifications for the 2027 Rogue's e-Power system.

The Nissan Rogue 2027 is scheduled to launch in the US market in late 2026. The Rogue competes in the same segment as the Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, and Hyundai Tucson.

Since its introduction in 2000, the Rogue/X-Trail has sold nearly 10 million units globally, with almost 4 million units in the US, making it one of Nissan's most successful models worldwide.
