Hyundai's Tucson Hybrid is slated for an official launch and customer deliveries in early September, according to a company representative. The hybrid variant, displayed alongside the Palisade Hybrid at a shopping center, is expected to be priced under 999 million dong.

In the C-segment SUV market with hybrid powertrains, the Tucson Hybrid will compete against models like the Honda CR-V e:HEV, priced from 1.17-1.25 billion dong, and the Kia Sorento HEV, ranging from 999 million dong to 1.099 billion dong. With an anticipated price below 999 million dong, the Tucson Hybrid is positioned to be more affordable, increasing competitive pressure on its rivals.

The Tucson Hybrid also expands Hyundai Thanh Cong’s hybrid product line, joining the Santa Fe Hybrid, priced at 1.369 billion dong, and the upcoming Palisade Hybrid, with an estimated price range of 1.5-1.7 billion dong.

The hybrid variant of the Tucson retains the exterior design language and equipment configuration of the 1.6 T-GDi Turbo version currently available in Vietnam. The primary distinction lies in its new hybrid powertrain, which combines a Smartstream G1.6 T-GDi gasoline engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 231.8 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque.

The Tucson Hybrid measures 4,640 mm in length, 1,865 mm in width, and 1,700 mm in height, showing a slight increase in height compared to the internal combustion engine variant, while its wheelbase remains at 2,755 mm. Other features include: 8 Bose speakers, an e-motion smart driving assist system, and a 4-level regenerative braking system. Additionally, the Tucson Hybrid continues to offer a comprehensive active safety package with multiple advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
