Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Kawasaki introduced the new Z7 Hybrid and Ninja Z7 Hybrid models for the Italy market. The Z7 Hybrid features a nakedbike style, while the Ninja Z7 Hybrid is a sportbike. A notable upgrade for both Z7 Hybrid models is the powertrain management between EV and Hybrid modes. Previously, switching between EV electric mode and hybrid mode was limited to low speeds; now, it can be done at higher speeds, up to 60 km/h.

This upgrade allows riders to travel in urban areas, or regions with environmental regulations, using EV mode without significantly reducing speed.
Another new feature is the automatic transmission, which is now available in Sport mode. This enhancement makes the Z7 Hybrid pair more versatile, catering to riders seeking comfort and those who desire an exhilarating motorcycle experience.
Standard features on the Z7 Hybrid include a digital color display showing full vehicle information, an LED lighting system, and smartphone connectivity via an app. Both wheels have disc brakes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS). The motorcycle also includes walk and reverse modes.
The Z7 Hybrid is powered by a 451cc liquid-cooled, 4-stroke parallel-twin engine, combined with an electric motor. The engine produces 69 horsepower at 10,500 rpm and 60,4 Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm. It uses a simulated 6-speed automatic transmission. Fuel consumption is 3,7 liters per 100 km in Eco-Hybrid (AT) mode or 4 liters per 100 km in Sport-Hybrid (MT) mode, according to the manufacturer.

Kawasaki plans to release the Z7 Hybrid and Ninja Z7 Hybrid 2026 in the Italy market in the second half of the year, with prices starting from 8,000 USD.
These models are also the world's first hybrid motorcycles, offering riders new and engaging experiences. They provide instant acceleration from a standstill, comparable to a 1.000cc motorcycle (thanks to the e-boost function), and fuel economy on par with a 250cc model.
