Lexus is preparing to discontinue several key models, marking the end of some of its longest-running lines. A significant portion of the IS sedan, RC coupe, and all-electric UX SUV versions will cease production in Japan in November.

The company announced on its website, "Production of the IS 500, IS 350, IS 300h (AWD), IS 300, RC 350, RC 300h, and RC 300 will end in November. Sales will conclude when orders reach the November production limit. Depending on when you intend to purchase, some configurations may no longer be available".
A similar announcement appeared on the RC F Final Edition page, a special edition launched in January as a tribute to the V8-powered coupe. This edition was limited to 200 units for the Japanese market, and Lexus confirmed they are all sold.

With these changes, only the rear-wheel-drive IS 300h will continue production for the Japanese market, while other IS and RC variants will be discontinued. Both models debuted in 2013, marking over a decade on the market. The IS received design updates in 2017 and 2020, while the RC underwent a mid-cycle refresh in 2018.
According to *Creative Trend*, Lexus is reportedly developing a new generation of the IS, expected to launch in 2026. Despite previous aims for a fully electric transition, the new IS will likely offer both electric and hybrid options, similar to the larger ES sedan.
The RC coupe's future is less certain, with a successor unlikely. Instead, Lexus is reportedly developing a new sports coupe that could replace both the RC and the high-end LC. The LC is also in its final lifecycle stage, with the LC 500 Pinnacle Edition recently introduced. LC production is expected to cease in 2026, though the exact date remains unannounced.
Finally, Lexus also announced it will stop producing its smallest all-electric SUV, the UX 300e, in 11/2025. This model debuted in 2019, a year after the gasoline and hybrid versions of the UX were introduced.
According to the *Nikkan Kogyo* daily, the hybrid UX 300h will likely follow suit, with production slated to end in the 2025 fiscal year, concluding on 30/3/2026. While Lexus hasn't announced a successor, the UX remains a globally popular model. Its close technical relationship with the Toyota C-HR and Corolla Cross suggests a new generation is likely in development.
