Thaco, the distributor of the MINI brand, announced the price of the Countryman JCW at 2.789 billion VND in late August. The vehicle is imported from the UK and is the most expensive and most powerful version of the Countryman line.
JCW stands for John Cooper Works, MINI's sports car division. Models with the JCW suffix have been refined by the company in terms of chassis, suspension, and engine. In addition, the interior and exterior also have some details that differentiate them from the standard version, emphasizing the sporty nature.

The MINI Countryman JCW's front end has been redesigned with vertical stripes resembling a racing flag. Two black racing stripes are also present on the hood. At the rear, the car features dual exhaust pipes, and a brake light on the spoiler. The rear bumper is also more muscular than the standard version and is painted glossy black.
The Countryman JCW is equipped with 20-inch two-tone wheels. MINI has equipped its largest high-riding model with an adaptive sport suspension and high-performance red brake calipers.
Inside, the layout remains the same as the standard version, but with some accents like contrasting red stitching on the dashboard and seats. The three-spoke steering wheel has red stripes at the 6 o'clock position, and paddle shifters control the 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Only the JCW version of the Countryman has the Boost Mode function. The driver activates it by pressing and holding the left (-) paddle on the steering wheel for a few seconds. This optimizes the engine, suspension, throttle response, and transmission for maximum performance for about 10 seconds. This system operates similarly to those found in some Porsche and Mercedes-AMG models.
The engine is the same twin-turbo 2-liter as the standard version, but the MINI Countryman JCW offers greater performance with 317 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. It also features all-wheel drive.
Other standard features on the Countryman JCW include automatic climate control, leather and fabric seats, electronic gear lever, panoramic sunroof, head-up display, and a 12-speaker Harman Kardon high-end sound system.
With a price of nearly 2.8 billion VND for a B+ segment vehicle, the MINI Countryman JCW is not for everyone and is often the second or third car for its owners. In Vietnam, with its design, sporty personality, and high price, the MINI has no direct competitors.
