According to a source from VnExpress, Mitsubishi Vietnam will introduce a new 7-seater CUV in December. This is the commercial version of the DST concept car that was showcased earlier in June in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Dealerships are already accepting customer deposits.
The official name of the concept car is Destinator. Mitsubishi Japan will unveil it on 17/7 at the 2025 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). Like the Xpander and Xforce, the Mitsubishi Destinator will be manufactured in Indonesia for the domestic market and export to Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam.

Details about the Destinator's dimensions and engine are not yet available. The DST concept is positioned in the C-D segment with a true 7-seat configuration, not a 5+2. This means the commercial version will likely replace the Outlander and possibly the Pajero Sport in the Vietnamese market.
Current C-segment SUVs like the Honda CR-V, Ford Territory, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Tucson have 5 or 5+2 seating, with the last two seats only suitable for children on short trips. The Destinator will offer the advantage of 7-seat space like a D-segment SUV but with a price point closer to the C-segment.
A Mitsubishi Vietnam representative stated that the Destinator's commercial version will retain most of the DST concept's design, similar to the Xforce.
The Mitsubishi DST embodies the "Gravitas & Dynamism" design language. Notable features include black pillars, a unique rear pillar design, high ground clearance, and muscular fenders with large tires. Side moldings and prominent underbody cladding add to the rugged appearance.
The Dynamic Shield concept continues with a three-dimensional design and honeycomb grille, seamlessly integrated with the front bumper. Like the Xforce, both the front daytime running lights and taillights are LED and T-shaped.
The DST boasts a spacious cabin with soft-touch materials. The interior design creates a sense of unity with the panoramic sunroof. The instrument panel integrates a full LCD screen that seamlessly connects with the infotainment display.
Mitsubishi states that the DST is front-wheel drive but capable of performing well in all weather and road conditions. It offers five driving modes: Wet, Tarmac, Normal, Gravel, and Mud.
