Mitsubishi announced pricing for its new Destinator SUV at GIIAS 2025 in Indonesia on 23/7. The vehicle debuted on 17/7, making Indonesia the first global market for the Destinator, following in the footsteps of the Xforce’s launch two years prior. Indonesia is a key market for Mitsubishi in Southeast Asia.
The Destinator is a C-segment SUV with a unique three-row, seven-seat configuration, unlike the typical 5+2 layout found in competitors like the Honda CR-V, Ford Territory, Mazda CX-5, and Hyundai Tucson, whose third-row seats are generally suitable only for children or short trips. Mitsubishi designed the Destinator with families and long journeys in mind, making its spacious third row a key selling point. It is Mitsubishi's third global strategic model developed in Indonesia, following the Xpander and Xforce, with a primary focus on the Southeast Asian market.

The Destinator's exterior features Mitsubishi's signature Dynamic Shield design language. The multi-tiered grille showcases a honeycomb pattern beneath a transparent acrylic layer. The T-shaped daytime running lights and taillights are LED, similar to the Xforce. The overall design emphasizes its SUV nature, evident in its class-leading 214 mm ground clearance. The vehicle sports 18-inch wheels with 225/55 R18 tires.
The Destinator measures 4,680 mm in length, 1,840 mm in width, and 1,780 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,815 mm. It boasts an approach angle of 21 degrees, a departure angle of 25.5 degrees, and a breakover angle of 20.8 degrees. The vehicle weighs 1,495 kg.
The Destinator's interior is designed for passenger comfort. The three-row layout provides genuine seating for seven. A 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and an 8-inch digital instrument cluster are standard. The six-speaker audio system, panoramic sunroof, and 64-color ambient lighting enhance the cabin experience. Dual-zone automatic climate control with dedicated rear vents ensures comfort for all passengers.

Smart storage solutions are integrated throughout the cabin: cup holders in the doors and center console, folding tables and storage compartments behind the front seats for tablets and other items, and USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports in each row. The second-row seats have a 40:20:40 split-folding function, while the third-row seats fold independently in a 50:50 configuration. Both rows can fold completely flat for maximum cargo space.
The Destinator is powered by a new-generation, globally utilized 1.5-liter turbocharged engine producing 161 hp and 250 Nm of torque, paired with a CVT transmission and front-wheel drive. While the Honda CR-V offers a more powerful 1.5-liter turbo engine with 188 hp, the Destinator slightly outperforms the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter versions of the Tucson (156 hp) and CX-5 (154 hp).
The Destinator offers five driving modes: Normal, Wet, Gravel, Mud (carried over from the Xforce), and a new Tarmac mode, a first for Mitsubishi SUVs. The MacPherson strut front suspension and torsion beam rear suspension are tuned for each market to optimize handling and ride comfort. The rear suspension design minimizes the size of the wheel wells, maximizing cargo space and third-row legroom. The high-rigidity RISE body structure contributes to overall safety and stability.
The Destinator is equipped with a suite of ADAS features, including: adaptive cruise control (ACC), forward collision mitigation (FCM), blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, lead car departure notification, and a 360-degree camera. Standard safety features are also included.
