On 4/3, Mitsubishi Vietnam launched the manual transmission (MT) version of its MPV line, the Xpander. Previously, MT models of the Xpander were assembled at the company's factory in Binh Duong, but they are now imported.
Exterior changes on the new Mitsubishi Xpander MT align with updates the Japanese automaker introduced on the two automatic transmission versions launched in 2025. The vehicle features subtle refinements to its grille and rear, giving it a more aggressive and sharper appearance.

Newly designed 16-inch wheels.
The Xpander MT's 16-inch wheels also feature a new design. Its overall length has increased by 120 mm to 4,595 mm. With a ground clearance of 225 mm, it is among the largest in its segment.
Inside, the instrument cluster has been upgraded to a 7-inch display. The second-row seats now include three headrests and an armrest with integrated cup holders.
The Mitsubishi Xpander MT 2026 retains its 1.5-liter MIVEC engine, producing 105 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. It is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Combined fuel consumption is approximately 6.8 liters per 100 km.
The MT version of the Xpander maintains its standard features, including: halogen headlights, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. The vehicle features fabric seats and an infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity. Basic safety technologies include: electronic stability control, hill start assist, electronic brakeforce distribution, antilock braking system, and two airbags.
Priced at 568 million dong, the Mitsubishi Xpander MT 2026 sees a slight increase of 8 million dong compared to its predecessor. This model targets customers in the ride-hailing or service sector who prioritize low initial investment costs.
Competitors to the Xpander MT include: the Toyota Avanza MT (558 million dong), Hyundai Stargazer MT (499 million dong), Suzuki XL7 AT (599 million dong), and MG G50 MT (559 million dong).
Within the Xpander's sales structure, the MT version accounts for a small proportion compared to the AT version. In 2025, the Mitsubishi Xpander remained Vietnam's best-selling small MPV for the seventh consecutive year, with sales of 19,891 units. Its market position remained unchanged in early 2026.
