The incident, which occurred on 26/5 on Truong Van Linh street, involved a motorcyclist who, without observing traffic, wove between two cars stopped at a red light to cross the road. At that moment, an oncoming car collided with the front of the motorcycle. The rider fell onto the road but fortunately was able to stand up after the impact.
This video shows a motorcycle emerging from a blind spot in a car lane, causing an accident in Hanoi on 26/5.
Navigating through blind spots created by stopped or parked vehicles poses risks for motorcyclists and other road users. If crossing is necessary, motorcyclists should come to a complete stop at the edge of the vehicles and carefully observe both directions before proceeding.
Car drivers also help prevent collisions. When drivers observe an adjacent lane with stopped or congested traffic, they should reduce speed and apply brakes to prepare for sudden situations that might arise.
