Thaco, the assembler and distributor of Peugeot, introduced the new generation Peugeot 3008 and 5008 at a private media event. This unveiling precedes their official launch and pricing announcement scheduled for 30/5. This marks the first appearance of these two high-riding models, featuring a new design language, in Vietnam.

The Peugeot 3008, now in its third generation, is positioned by Thaco in the C-segment price range, despite being a B+ segment vehicle. The new model retains a coupe-like style with a C-pillar that curves towards the rear.
The 3008's entire body has been refreshed. It features a borderless grille and three-stripe LED daytime running lights, inspired by lion claws, a design previously seen on the 2008. The taillights also maintain the three-stripe design but are now slimmer. The Peugeot lettering replaces the brand logo on the tailgate.
Inside, Peugeot diverges from the minimalist trend, extensively integrating display screens. Both the 3008 and 5008 remain committed to the i-Cockpit philosophy, featuring an updated "Panoramic i-Cockpit" cabin that maintains the aircraft cockpit style of the previous generation, now with a more modern feel.

The French automaker redesigned the gear shifter, transitioning from a traditional lever to a paddle-style control located behind the steering wheel. A prominent 21-inch curved screen on the dashboard displays both driver information and entertainment functions. A smaller screen below provides quick access to features such as maps, calls, and air conditioning.
A substantial center console divides the driver and passenger areas. The cockpit's angular and layered design elements create a modern visual impact, though they somewhat reduce the perceived interior spaciousness.
The display model features perforated leather upholstery on all seats, ambient lighting, and a 10-speaker Focal sound system.
While the 3008 leans towards a sporty and youthful appeal, the 5008 adopts a more traditional SUV style. Thaco positions the Peugeot 5008's price point close to the D-segment, despite its size being comparable to C-segment models.

The 3008 and 5008 share a common platform and many exterior and interior design elements. The Peugeot 5008 can be considered a larger version of the 3008, featuring a traditional SUV rear and an additional two seats in the third row.
The 5008 offers mechanical sunshades in the second row and a three-zone independent air conditioning system. The second-row seats fold in a 40:20:40 split, while the third-row seats fold 50:50.
Both the Peugeot 3008 and 5008 are powered by a 1,6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, delivering 180 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This new engine, while maintaining the same displacement, offers an increase of 15 horsepower and 55 Nm compared to the previous generation.
Thaco has not yet disclosed detailed technical specifications for the various 3008 and 5008 versions. The previous generation 3008 was priced between 949 million dong and 1,129 million dong, while the 5008 ranged from 1,099 billion dong to 1,399 billion dong. Both models are assembled at Thaco's factory in Da Nang, Quang Nam.
