Omoda O4 globally launched, set for assembly in Vietnam

The B+ segment SUV was first introduced at Auto China 2026, offering diverse powertrain options, and will be assembled in Vietnam.

Chinese automotive brand Omoda & Jaecoo (O&J) chose the Beijing Auto Show 2026 (Auto China) for the global debut of the Omoda O4. This B+ segment SUV is developed for various international markets. Alongside the Omoda O4, the Chinese automaker also unveiled the Omoda O7.

According to O&J Vietnam representatives, the O4 is slated for production in Vietnam, becoming the brand's second model to be assembled locally, following the Jaecoo J5. The O4 will be available with gasoline, hybrid, and electric powertrain options. Both the gasoline and hybrid variants feature a 1,5 liter, 4-cylinder engine.

The O4's exterior features an aggressive design with angular lines. Its distinctive front grille integrates a protruding bumper. The tiered headlight clusters form an X-shape, with a line extending towards the rear. The LED taillights resemble inverted lightning bolts. The vehicle rides on 18-inch two-tone wheels, complemented by a large rear spoiler for improved aerodynamics.

Inside, the O4 showcases O&J's signature design, highlighted by a vertically oriented infotainment touchscreen, similar to its sibling the J7. A red, supercar-inspired covered start button adds a unique touch. Behind the flat-bottom sport steering wheel, the B+ segment SUV is equipped with a 7-inch display, providing essential vehicle information. The cabin offers ample space, particularly in the rear seats with generous legroom.

O&J has not yet disclosed detailed specifications for the O4's powertrains.

Since its global launch in 2023, O&J has maintained significant growth, with sales doubling annually. In just three years, O&J achieved the milestone of 1 million vehicles, a feat that took some traditional brands over a decade. In march 2026 alone, O&J's global sales exceeded 60.000 units.
