A 25-vehicle pileup occurred when a truck's brakes failed near the Adoshi tunnel in Khopoli, Maharastra. The truck, traveling downhill on a wet road due to rain, slammed into the vehicles ahead.

Seven vehicles were severely damaged, including a 17-seat Force Traveller van where most of the injured were traveling. The deceased victim, 58-year-old Anita Sahadev Ekhande, was traveling with her family in an SUV.

Khopoli police have filed a case and are investigating the cause of the accident. The 29-year-old truck driver, who was not under the influence of alcohol, has been arrested.
