An SUV and a pickup truck plummeted several meters into a sinkhole on 24/2, after the road surface collapsed beneath them at a bustling Omaha, Nebraska intersection. Police confirmed that no drivers sustained injuries in the incident.

The pickup truck driver managed to free himself from the sinkhole. With the help of bystanders, he then assisted the SUV driver in escaping the predicament.

Following the event, the Omaha city government used its fanpage to thank those who had assisted the stranded drivers. The city commended their spirit of support and kindness during the emergency.

Officials from the Omaha Public Works Department later identified a broken water pipe as the cause of the sinkhole.
