Vehicles caught by AI cameras on january 5-6

One car drove in the wrong lane on Le Van Luong street, seven cases involved not wearing seatbelts, and 23 motorbikes had no helmets on january 5-6.

Hanoi's traffic authorities have reported several violations detected by artificial intelligence (AI) camera systems across the city and on a major expressway between january 5 and 6. The violations include driving in the wrong lane, not wearing seatbelts, failing to wear helmets, and running red lights, with penalties issued according to Decree 168/2024.

On Le Van Luong street in Hanoi, an AI camera system detected one car driving in the wrong lane at 10:38 on 5/1. The car, bearing license plate 89A 847.13, was identified by the Traffic Police Department. According to Decree 168/2024 on road traffic violations, driving in the wrong lane incurs a fine of 4-6 million VND and two license points. If such a violation causes an accident, the fine escalates to 20-22 million VND, with ten license points deducted.

Pilot AI cameras installed at the Pham Van Bach - Hoang Quan Chi intersection in downtown Hanoi automatically detected 23 cases of motorbike riders not wearing helmets and 17 cases of failing to obey traffic signals, specifically running red lights. These incidents occurred from 12:00 on 5/1 to 12:00 on 6/1. Motorbike riders running a red light face a fine of 4-6 million VND and four license points. If an accident occurs, the fine ranges from 10-14 million VND, with ten license points deducted. The penalty for not wearing a helmet is 400,000-600,000 VND for each violator (both driver and passenger are fined separately), as stipulated by Decree 168/2024.

Further south, an AI camera at kilometer 20 on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway recorded 8,572 vehicles passing through at an average speed of 87,5 km/h. The system also detected seven car drivers not wearing seatbelts and one speeding violation. Car drivers not wearing a seatbelt are fined 800,000 - 1,000,000 VND, according to Decree 168/2024. All detected violations are reported to the vehicle owners for processing in accordance with regulations. Below are the seven vehicles detected for seatbelt violations:
