Suzuki aims for market share in Europe's affordable electric vehicle segment by commercializing the Vision e-Sky concept. This new model is set to be sold outside Japan, with an anticipated launch in Europe and the UK in spring 2027. This move positions Suzuki directly against the increasing number of small, affordable electric vehicles.
This unnamed electric vehicle will be smaller than the Suzuki Swift hatchback, which measures 3,860 mm in length. The concept was previously designed to meet the strict standards of Japan's kei-car segment, with a length of only 3,395 mm.

Following Suzuki's design tradition, the production version is expected to closely resemble the concept. The Japanese automaker may only make minor adjustments to the front and rear bumpers and light clusters, while also incorporating traditional door handles and larger side mirrors.
David Kateley, Director of Suzuki UK, told Autocar, "An A-segment electric vehicle is extremely important. This is a completely new segment for us, and I have high expectations for its prospects."
Suzuki has not yet disclosed specific details about the electric motor or battery capacity. Meanwhile, the concept model boasts a range of over 270 km on a full charge. For comparison, its direct competitor, the Renault Twingo E-Tech, offers a range of 263 km (WLTP standard), while the Honda Super-N achieves 206 km in a combined cycle.
Reports further indicate that Suzuki's new electric vehicle will be priced under 20,000 GBP (26,000 USD), positioning it alongside the Twingo E-Tech and Super-N. However, the European market also features more affordable rivals such as the Dacia Spring (starting around 16,000 GBP) and the production version of the VW ID.Every1 (targeting approximately 17,000 GBP).
Crucially, this new electric vehicle will help Suzuki comply with strict emission regulations in Europe and the UK. Currently, the brand's product range primarily consists of mild-hybrid and traditional hybrid configurations, with the e Vitara being its only pure electric model. Suzuki's third electric vehicle is anticipated to launch in 2029 and will likely feature a crossover design.
