Volkswagen dealerships in Vietnam have started accepting deposits for the Golf, with deliveries expected between late July and early August. A source confirmed to VnExpress that Volkswagen Vietnam is preparing to launch the Golf, imported from Germany.
Sales consultants indicate that three versions of the Volkswagen Golf are anticipated in Vietnam. All will feature a 2-liter turbocharged engine, but with varying performance outputs.

The R variant of the Golf.
The two lower trims, the GTI, offer 242 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.3 seconds. The top-of-the-line R variant boasts 315 horsepower and 420 Nm of torque, achieving 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
All Golf versions come with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The GTI has front-wheel drive, while the R variant features all-wheel drive.
Dealerships suggest the Golf's price will exceed 1 billion VND. The Virtus, a B-segment sedan recently launched by Volkswagen and imported from India, starts at 945 million VND.
The Golf has never been officially distributed in Vietnam. Smaller hatchbacks like the Scirocco and Polo were previously available, but both have been discontinued. Volkswagen also offered the iconic 5-door Beetle, but it was discontinued in 2020.
Launched in 1974, the Volkswagen Golf is one of the German automaker's most successful models, especially in its European home market. Available in 3-door or 5-door configurations, it's currently in its 8th generation.
The Golf has a wheelbase of 2,636 mm, with overall dimensions of 4,287 mm in length, 1,789 mm in width, and 1,456 mm in height. These specifications place the Golf in the B+ segment hatchback category.
Detailed information about the Golf's features for the Vietnamese market is not yet available. In the mainstream B+ hatchback segment, no other product has such a distinct sporty focus as the Golf.
