Woman pulled under truck while waiting at traffic light

A motorcyclist, positioned sideways while waiting at a red light in front of a truck, was involved in an accident when the light turned green.

A traffic incident occurred at the busy Chau O market intersection in Binh Son on 17/6. A motorcyclist was waiting at the traffic light. As soon as the light turned green, a truck moved forward, running over the person and their vehicle. The victim's condition is currently unknown.

Driving tips: Trucks and container vehicles are large with high cabins, creating dangerous blind spots. If a motorcycle stops too close, the truck driver will not be able to see it. According to Car Awards experts, when waiting at a red light alongside a truck, motorcyclists should stop far behind or to the side, maintaining as much distance as possible. Never squeeze into the space directly in front of the truck. Do not turn the motorcycle sideways; always keep it facing straight ahead to allow for immediate movement when the light turns green, avoiding delays from balancing or turning, which can slow down traffic flow.

When the light turns green, do not rush to cut in front of or 'steal' the road from large vehicles. Trucks require time and significant inertia to start moving, so cutting across or moving slowly in front of them is highly dangerous. Drivers should wait for large vehicles to move steadily or signal clearly before attempting to change direction.

The following incident occurred at the same intersection, where a motorcyclist narrowly escaped serious injury on 27/5.
