A young student on an electric bicycle suffered minor soft tissue injuries on 16/12 when she collided with an oncoming truck on Nguyen Van Qua street. Video footage shows the girl, in a school uniform, navigating between two busy lanes of traffic. She swerved to avoid a motorbike on her right and a taxi overtaking from her left, losing control and veering directly into the truck's path. The truck braked, but its wheels crushed her bicycle. Residents quickly pulled her from under the vehicle, ensuring her rescue.
This incident highlights critical traffic safety advice for young cyclists. Students riding bicycles or electric bikes should always keep to the side of the road, avoiding middle lanes where faster vehicles present dual safety risks. Parents, especially, should not allow children to operate vehicles on public roads until they possess comprehensive traffic safety knowledge and sufficient maturity.
