Bac A Bank offers preferential foreign currency transaction fees

Bac A Bank joint stock commercial bank applies fees starting from 1% for foreign currency transactions made with Bac A Bank Mastercard international credit cards until 31/12.

Market surveys indicate that foreign currency transaction fees via international credit cards typically range from 2-4% of the transaction value. This varies based on the payment method, such as point-of-sale (POS) swipes, ATM withdrawals, or online transactions. While some banks offer lower fees, these are often temporary or subject to specific conditions.

To support its customers, Bac A Bank is implementing a long-term preferential fee structure for two of its international credit card lines. The Mastercard Cashback Platinum card will incur a 1% fee per transaction, while the Mastercard Rewards Gold card will have a 1,3% fee.

This program is valid until 5 PM on 31/12. It applies to all foreign currency transactions, including online payments on international websites, POS transactions, and ATM withdrawals conducted abroad, specifically for currencies other than VND.

Pham Huong Mai from Ha Tinh stated that she frequently uses her Bac A Bank Mastercard Cashback Platinum card for daily expenses. She appreciates the cashback programs and partnerships with various entities such as Shopee, Golden Gate, and TH truemart.

Mai added, "In addition to the daily benefits, the reduction of foreign currency transaction fees to 1% significantly enhances convenience for me when I travel for business or leisure abroad."

The Bac A Bank Mastercard international credit card, launched in 2023, has shown positive growth and stable operations, according to Mastercard's assessment. In 2025, the product received the "Champion of Cross-Border Payment Growth" award, acknowledging its initiatives in fostering cross-border payments and improving transaction efficiency and security.

Vu Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of Retail Banking Division at Bac A Bank, highlighted that international credit cards are a core component of the bank's strategy for retail banking and digital payment development.

A bank representative commented, "We are not simply chasing growth; instead, we focus on building sustainable value. This is achieved through developing a comprehensive, integrated product and service ecosystem that is personalized to meet the specific spending needs of each customer segment."
