Customs announces sale of thousands of iPhones at an average price of VND 800,000

Customs announces sale of over 2,500 used iPhones, averaging VND 800,000 each.

The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department, part of the Customs Department, announced the sale of a batch of confiscated items from administrative violations. This consignment includes 2,540 used iPhone mobile phones, valued at over 2 billion VND. This puts the average price per unit at approximately 800,000 VND.

Additionally, the agency offered another batch of confiscated items for sale, comprising 2,360 used phones from brands like iPhone, Oppo, and Honor. The total listed value for this lot is over 1.36 billion VND, averaging nearly 600,000 VND per unit.

Authorities stated that sales would be for entire batches only, not individual units, and buyers must complete payment via bank transfer.

Interested buyers can preview the assets and must submit registration documents to the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department. Each organization or individual registering is allowed a maximum of two registration forms. Since the sale is by listed price, if there are multiple registrants, customs will conduct a lottery on 15/1 to select the successful buyer.

The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Sub-Department reminds successful buyers that they are responsible for all costs related to the transportation and handling of the goods. Additionally, buyers must complete all necessary legal procedures before re-introducing these goods to the market.
