Dien May Xanh CEO receives billions after two years of 'unpaid' work

After two years of 'unpaid' work, Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of Dien May Xanh, earned over 4 billion dong in the first six months of the year.

According to the Q2 consolidated financial report of Mobile World Investment Corporation (MWG), Doan Van Hieu Em, CEO of subsidiary Dien May Xanh (DMX), received total compensation of approximately 4,13 billion dong in the first six months of this year. On average, he earned over 688 million dong per month.

Hieu Em had the highest compensation among MWG's senior leadership team. Other members, such as General Director Vu Dang Linh, received 1,35 billion dong, and Chief Accountant Ly Tran Kim Ngan received 989,4 million dong. Chairman of the Board of Directors Nguyen Duc Tai continued to receive no income.

The Dien May Xanh executive earned significant income after two consecutive years of 'unpaid' work during the 2024-2025 period. The reason: since 2023, business difficulties led MWG to implement a policy requiring mid to senior-level positions to contribute by reducing or foregoing salaries and bonuses. This was aimed at minimizing the impact on the income of junior employees. At the time, the leadership stated that when business showed signs of improvement, MWG would cease this policy and resume normal salary and bonus payments.

At an investor meeting in 3/2024, Nguyen Duc Tai stated that salary was not the primary goal for senior leaders. He added that if MWG succeeded, they would receive a commensurate share, including ESOP.

ESOP is a policy Mobile World has consistently maintained for many years, serving as a key strategy to retain talent. In 2025, after exceeding its profit plan by 46%, the company opted to issue over 7,3 million bonus shares to key management personnel at a price of 10.000 dong – only 14% of the market price. Among these, Hieu Em acquired the most, with 721.899 shares.

Owning MWG shares allows company leaders to hold substantial assets. Based on current market prices, Hieu Em holds nearly 164 billion dong. Other leaders also possess stock-based assets ranging from tens to hundreds of billions of dong, with Nguyen Duc Tai's holdings exceeding 2.300 billion dong.

For the first half of the year, Mobile World's revenue reached 95.213 billion dong, an increase of nearly 29% year-on-year. The company recorded a post-tax profit of 6.112 billion dong, up 91%. These results enabled MWG to achieve over half of its annual revenue plan and approximately two-thirds of its full-year profit target.
