Similarly, in Son La early on 1/1, Market Management Team No. 1 of the Son La Provincial Market Management Department, working with local police, stopped a vehicle driven by a local man. This inspection revealed 500 kg of animal products in sacks, without legal documents.
The Son La owner admitted to sourcing the products illicitly for profit. Authorities issued an administrative fine and mandated the destruction of all illegal goods as per regulations.
These incidents align with the broader efforts of the Domestic Market Management and Development Agency. At its 2025 Year-End Review Conference, the agency stated that its entire force inspected over 27,500 cases and handled 23,402 violations last year. These efforts primarily targeted products of unverified origin, counterfeit goods, and e-commerce breaches. For 2026, the agency aims to further improve the legal framework and strengthen market inspection and supervision to protect consumer rights.
