EmbedIT, a technology unit of PPF Group, presented its comprehensive cybersecurity approach at the Vietnam Security Summit 2026, held on 22/5 at the JW Marriot Hotel Hanoi. Leveraging over 25 years of experience in deploying and operating core systems for over 150 million global customers, EmbedIT emphasized the necessity of integrating cybersecurity with actual business operations. The company shared practical insights into managing high-security technology infrastructure on a global scale.

Specifically, Ivo Gajdica, Head of Cybersecurity Services at EmbedIT, presented an insightful topic: "Out of sight, out of control: mastering the external digital footprint to enhance digital adaptability and resilience." He identified risks from an attacker's perspective and outlined real-time vulnerability detection methods.

Gajdica highlighted a critical oversight in current cybersecurity strategies. He noted that while chief information security officers (CISOs) typically focus on internal, controllable elements like firewalls and EDR systems, a significant paradox exists: businesses often dedicate up to 90% of their security budget to protect only 10% of their owned assets. The majority of severe risks, he explained, lie outside the enterprise's direct management, yet the company remains fully accountable for any resulting incidents.
The evolving landscape of data breaches in Vietnam underscores a significant shift in cybercrime methodologies. Instead of focusing on breaching complex security systems, attackers increasingly exploit compromised credentials. These threat actors also leverage sophisticated techniques like deepfakes, brand impersonation, and data acquired from the dark web to operate under the guise of legitimate users, making detection and control exceptionally challenging for businesses.
To counter these advanced threats, Ivo advocated for a strategic shift from traditional vulnerability management to a continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) strategy. This CTEM model integrates various security signals, including attack surface management, brand protection, dark web monitoring, and fraud detection. By adopting this approach, businesses can effectively reduce their "dark zone" of unseen risks, thereby significantly improving their cybersecurity control and overall resilience.

Gajdica further emphasized that many businesses struggle with the speed of risk response. He noted that the transition from a common security incident to a full-blown reputation crisis can occur within a matter of hours. This rapid escalation presents a dilemma for decision-makers: should they commit to investing internal resources, thereby contending with potential staff shortages and the demands of 24/7 operations, or should they opt for a specialized continuous threat exposure management (CTEM) model? Gajdica argued that a CTEM model, coupled with international standard procedures, enables immediate responses. He concluded that combining standardized processes with a global partner network is crucial for businesses to enhance their response efficacy and optimize resource allocation.
Leveraging its extensive experience in managing large-scale digital infrastructures, EmbedIT underscored the importance of proactive risk management from the external digital environment. This proactive stance, shared at the Vietnam Security Summit 2026, is essential for businesses to maintain system control and safeguard brand reputation. EmbedIT highlighted that digital resiliency is increasingly vital for supporting long-term digital transformation and the expansion of digital operations.
