MTA Vietnam - a platform for technological innovation, connecting the mechanical engineering industry

MTA Vietnam 2026, held at SECC from 1-4/7, will serve as a platform to introduce mechanical engineering businesses to new technologies, automation solutions, and supply chain connections.

The 22nd International Exhibition on Precision Engineering and Manufacturing (MTA Vietnam 2026) has expanded its exhibition area to 13,200 square meters. The event gathers over 450 brands from 21 countries and territories, including: Germany, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, USA, Italy, Switzerland, Singapore, and Thailand.

Over 13,100 industry professionals are expected to attend the event. The organizers identify the exhibition as a crucial trade platform where businesses will directly access a range of multi-axis CNC processing solutions, new measurement technologies, and sustainable manufacturing trends.

One of this year's highlights is the Supporting Industry Show 2026. This program is a collaboration between the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) in TP HCM, representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC), and the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Supporting Industry Development (CSID). It features the participation of 44 Japanese and Vietnamese businesses.

Specifically, the exhibition area is likened to a "gateway for connection," enabling domestic suppliers to access international standards, meet potential partners, and gradually integrate into global supply chains. A representative from the organizing committee stated, "The Supporting Industry Show 2026 expands cooperation opportunities, providing momentum for upgrading production capabilities and increasing the localization rate. This is a key factor for Vietnam's mechanical engineering industry to achieve breakthroughs in the coming period."

Additionally, a dedicated TP HCM pavilion for the supporting industry is organized by ITPC in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Supporting Industries (HASI). In this space, businesses can promote their production capabilities, seek partners, and progressively enhance their localization rate.

Within the exhibition framework, attendees can participate in the Speed Matching program, a strategic business connection initiative. The organizers will arrange 10-15 minute quick exchange sessions, allowing businesses to concisely present their capabilities and needs. This helps partners quickly identify suitability, facilitating deeper discussions and opening up future cooperation opportunities.

For the first time at MTA Vietnam, the forum "Mechanical Engineering in the Smart Era" will be held, addressing a new vision: placing engineers at the center of all transformations. From "hands-on work" to "digital intelligence," this space will honor those who built the foundation for the mechanical engineering industry. It will also open a dialogue about the role of the new generation of engineers, who will master technology, data, and smart manufacturing ecosystems.

Following last year's success, the "Seeking Supporting Industry Suppliers 2026" conference serves as a strategic bridge between foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprises and domestic suppliers. The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade presides over this program, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA), Saigon Hi-Tech Park (SHTP), and CSID. It aims to encourage domestic businesses to participate more deeply in global value chains within high-tech fields such as manufacturing, industrial equipment, and semiconductors.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Statistics Office, Q1/2026 recorded positive economic growth, reaching 8,27%—the highest in five years. The industrial production index (IIP) increased by 11,0% year-on-year. The mechanical engineering industry, a pillar of the city's industry, grew by 11,3%, continuing its shift towards smart manufacturing and automation.

The organizers noted that many businesses are transitioning from processing to manufacturing high-tech products, indicating a trend of upgrading technical capabilities and deeper integration into supply chains. Simultaneously, digital transformation activities, supply-demand connections, and trade promotion are intensified, creating conditions for businesses to expand cooperation and achieve sustainable development.

In this context, the demand for accessing new technologies and establishing strategic connections is increasingly urgent. MTA Vietnam 2026 is a convergence point for the entire industry, where trends are realized, technologies are directly applied, and cooperation opportunities are sought.
