The 737 Max is a globally popular narrow-body aircraft series from Boeing. Depending on its variant and configuration, it can accommodate 138 to 200 passengers.
Bamboo Airways also requested Boeing consider supporting training programs and operational capability transfer related to the new-generation Boeing 737 Max series. This includes training for flight crews, technical teams, and operational support staff.
Previously, FLC's airline and Boeing signed a memorandum of understanding to purchase Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft. During its peak, Bamboo Airways also utilized this wide-body aircraft on intercontinental routes to Germany, the United Kingdom, and Australia.
Bamboo Airways currently operates 8 narrow-body aircraft, primarily dry-leased from Airbus. However, the company aims to restore its fleet to 30 aircraft. In the medium term, Bamboo Airways plans to add 8-10 aircraft annually to accelerate its network expansion by 2030.
Boeing Vietnam CEO Michael Vu stated that Boeing is ready to partner with Bamboo Airways, acknowledging the clear direction and determination of the airline's founder in this new development phase. Both parties agreed to continue discussions in the near future to formalize details, aiming for a substantive cooperation framework.
