Gence, with eight years of operation, specializes in producing authentic leather bags for men, catering to their needs for office work, business travel, and daily activities. The creation process involves multiple stages: material selection, pattern cutting, assembly, and product finishing. Each step follows a strict procedure to ensure design and structural consistency.
After completion, products are integrated into the company's management system before market distribution. However, with numerous products of uncertain origin appearing on the market, consumers find it challenging to identify genuine items visually.
According to a brand representative, "In response to demands for information transparency and product authentication, we launched the 'Touch to Trust' campaign, integrating NFC technology to assist in management and provide verifiable data to users."

Upon completing a bag, the manufacturer integrates near field communication (NFC) technology directly into the logo and updates corresponding data within the company's management system. This ensures that every product released to the market carries unique identification information.
When customers tap an NFC-enabled smartphone onto the chip's location, the system will display basic information: genuine authentication, product code, production batch, and factory release date.
According to the brand representative, a notable feature is that users are not required to install a separate application during the verification process. "NFC does not alter the product's nature but serves as a supplementary tool for management and information transparency. Each NFC chip is linked to a dataset stored on our system, establishing a connection between the physical product and its electronic information," Gence further explained.

Applying traceability technology in the leather goods industry is not a new concept globally. In fact, several international markets have already integrated chips or authentication codes to combat counterfeiting and manage supply chains.
In Vietnam, however, this approach is not yet widespread within the men's office leather bag segment. Gence's management dedicated significant time to discussions, ultimately deciding to merge traditional production methods with modern management technology.
"NFC serves as a valuable reference during the shopping process. Users can access information at the time of inspection, without relying on sales staff or accompanying documents. For resales or long-term use, this data helps identify the product's original source," the representative added.
