The Domestic Market Management and Development Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) announced these findings on 28/7. The discovery stemmed from a surprise inspection conducted on 23/7 by Market Management Team No. 12, in collaboration with the Economic Police Department of Gia Lai Provincial Police. This operation targeted a frozen food warehouse as part of the provincial People's Committee's food safety inspection plan.

During the inspection, authorities found 970 kg of frozen pork and chicken thighs stored at the warehouse. The facility owner could not produce invoices or documents proving the legal origin of the entire batch.

The batch lacked labels and did not display information about its production location, origin, or responsible entity as required by regulations. Furthermore, all the pork and chicken thighs showed signs of discoloration, emitted a foul odor, and failed to meet quality standards.

Authorities issued an administrative violation record to the facility owner for trading food of unclear origin. Subsequently, the entire batch was destroyed in accordance with regulations.

Moving forward, market management forces will continue to collaborate with the police and other relevant agencies to intensify inspections and address the illegal trade of food with unclear origins or substandard quality.
