Hoa Phat surpasses Vietcombank, VPBank, to lead stock exchange in charter capital

Following the completion of issuing over 767 million shares for dividend payments, Hoa Phat's charter capital has reached 84,430 billion VND, making it the largest on the stock exchange.

According to Hoa Phat Group, as of 26/5, the company completed its stock dividend distribution to 281,275 existing shareholders. Nearly 48,000 odd shares from the distribution process were cancelled in accordance with State Securities Commission regulations.

Following this issuance, Hoa Phat's charter capital reached 84,430 billion VND. Consequently, the company, led by billionaire Tran Dinh Long, has surpassed several banks such as Vietcombank, VPBank, VietinBank, MB, and other conglomerates like Vingroup and BSR, to become the entity with the largest number of outstanding shares on the stock market.

Hoa Phat became the enterprise with the largest charter capital on the stock exchange while its HPG stock traded at its lowest price since August last year. At the close of trading on 10/6, HPG's market price was 23,600 VND per share, representing a 3% decrease since the beginning of the year.

Hoa Phat is currently the largest steel producer in Southeast Asia and ranks among the top 30 largest companies globally in this industry. Billionaire Tran Dinh Long's enterprise contributes approximately 20,000 billion VND to the state budget annually and provides employment for 40,000 direct laborers.

In the first quarter of the year, the group recorded revenue exceeding 53,300 billion VND, a record high, and a 40% increase compared to the same period last year. The steel segment contributed over 95% of the group's sales. After deducting expenses, the company reported an after-tax profit of over 9,055 billion VND, 2,7 times higher than the same period last year.

During this year's annual general meeting, Chairman Tran Dinh Long stated that Hoa Phat's strategy is to continue expanding and investing deeply in the steel sector. The company also plans to develop its real estate segment, focusing on projects in prime locations with reasonable prices that meet the real needs of buyers.
