Vingroup sells 10% stake in insurance company to one mount group

Vingroup will transfer its entire 10% shareholding in ky thuong life insurance joint stock company (techcom life) to one mount group.

Vingroup announced on 22/7 that it is selling its 10% stake in Ky thuong life insurance joint stock company (Techcom Life) to One Mount Group. This transaction, approved by the Ministry of Finance, will not affect Techcom Life's charter capital, financial indicators, or the interests of its policyholders. As of late 2025, Vingroup's contribution to Techcom Life stood at 130 billion VND, representing 10% of the company's capital. Techcombank, Techcom Life's parent company, holds an 80% ownership stake, with three other individuals owning the remaining 20%.

Vingroup stated that this divestment aims to restructure its investment portfolio and focus resources on its core areas. The company will continue to explore opportunities with Techcom Life to provide solutions and value to customers.

One Mount Group, the recipient of the shares, was initially established by major enterprises, including Techcombank and Vingroup. However, Vingroup divested its entire stake from One Mount Group in early 2022. One Mount Group now primarily operates in technology, retail, and real estate, with three main pillars: One Mount Distribution, a retail platform connecting grocery stores with customers; One Mount Consumer, an e-wallet; and OneHousing, an online real estate buying and selling platform.

Techcom Life began operations on 16/7/2025, with an initial charter capital of 1,300 billion VND. In late June, Techcombank approved a resolution to increase its capital contribution to Techcom Life to 4,300 billion VND. This strategic move aims to position Techcom Life among Vietnam's largest life insurance companies by charter capital.

According to Techcombank's projections, Techcom Life is expected to incur losses in its first two years of operation. However, starting from the third year, the company anticipates recovering its capital and recording a net profit of 605 billion VND. After 5 years, Techcombank expects to receive a net profit of 1,195 billion VND from the life insurance sector, indicating a return on equity equivalent to 23.4%.
