The Vietnam Export-Import Bank (Eximbank) disclosed this information in documents prepared for its extraordinary meeting on 24/7. Nguyen Le Quoc Anh, born in 1966, holds a Doctor of Nuclear Technology degree from Purdue University in Indiana and a Master's degree from California State University (US).
Quoc Anh previously served as a director and senior manager at several companies, including T-Mobile US, Wells Fargo Bank, Fortress Investment Group, and McKinsey. From 2016 to 2020, he held the position of CEO at Techcombank, resigning afterward due to personal reasons. Currently, he is the Managing Director of One Globe Consulting Group.

Under the announced plan, Eximbank's new Board of Directors will comprise 7 members, with 6 serving as independent directors. Nguyen Le Quoc Anh is the only Vietnamese candidate nominated this time.
The four other candidates are foreign nationals: Richa Goswami, Ooi Huey Tyng, Michael Richard Harte, and Chua Teck Huat Bill. Each of these individuals brings over 30 years of experience in the finance and banking industry.
At the upcoming extraordinary meeting, in addition to electing new members, Eximbank's Board of Directors will propose to shareholders the dismissal of three former members: Nguyen Trong Hien, Pham Tuan Anh, and Nguyen Tri Trung. Pham Thi Huyen Trang and Ho Poh Wah will continue their roles at the bank.
Currently, Eximbank's largest investor is Gelex Group, holding a 10% ownership stake. The company appeared on the list of shareholders holding over 1% of Eximbank's capital in 7/2024.
Gelex Chairman Nguyen Van Tuan stated that the group acts as a strategic long-term investor in Eximbank. They also aim to increase their ownership in Eximbank, pending approval from regulatory authorities.
